Our oven installation services

  • Make the switch from gas

Switching from a gas oven to an electric model can require new electrical infrastructure because there may not be a suitable existing circuit available. We can assess what’s required and prepare the electrical supply for the new appliance. A licensed gas professional would need to handle relevant gas disconnection work.

  • Upgrading your electric oven

Where a new or upgraded circuit is required, we can install the appropriate electrical infrastructure between the switchboard and oven location based on the requirements of the appliance.

  • Oven relocation

Changing the kitchen layout and moving the oven to another position can require the electrical supply to move with it. We’ll assess the new location and determine how the circuit and connection can be appropriately relocated.

What’s involved in an induction cooktop installation service?

  • Check the new oven requirements

We start by looking at the specifications of the oven being installed. Different appliances can have different power, connection and installation requirements, so we don’t assume the new oven is the same as the one coming out.

  • Assess the existing electrical supply

If you’re replacing an existing oven, we’ll check the circuit and electrical connection supplying it to determine whether they’re appropriate for the new appliance. If it’s a new installation, we’ll determine what electrical infrastructure needs to be provided.

  • Check the switchboard and circuit

Depending on the requirements of the oven, we may need to assess the relevant circuit protection and cabling back to the switchboard. If an upgrade or new dedicated circuit is required, we’ll explain what’s involved before proceeding.

  • Safely disconnect the old oven

For replacement installations, the existing appliance is safely electrically disconnected so it can be removed. If other trades are involved in the kitchen project, we can coordinate the electrical work around the wider installation.

  • Prepare the electrical connection

Any required cabling, connection points or electrical alterations are completed so the supply is ready for the new oven. In a renovated kitchen, this can also involve relocating the electrical connection to suit the new cabinetry and appliance position.

  • Install and connect the new oven

Once the cabinetry and appliance location are ready, the new oven can be positioned and electrically connected according to its installation requirements.

  • Check the fit and finish

With a built-in appliance, we make sure the electrical connection isn’t interfering with how the oven sits within the cabinetry and that the finished installation looks neat and properly integrated.

  • Test the electrical work

Once connected, appropriate electrical testing is carried out before the installation is considered complete. We also check that the appliance powers up and operates as expected from an electrical installation perspective.

  • Ready to start cooking

With everything connected and tested, your new oven is ready to use. Where electrical certification is required for the work performed, the appropriate documentation can also be provided.

  • Ready, set, cook

From replacing an ageing oven to installing one in a completely new kitchen, Limelight Electrix takes care of the electrical work required to get your new appliance connected, tested and ready to use.

  • The oven is new. The wiring might not be.

Replacing an older appliance with a modern oven can mean different electrical requirements. We’ll assess what’s already behind the cabinetry and determine whether it’s ready for the upgrade.

  • Not every oven is a straight swap

Different ovens can have different electrical requirements, even when they’re physically similar in size. We check the specifications of the new appliance against the existing installation rather than assuming it’ll simply plug straight in.

  • Double the oven? Check the power.

Upgrading to a larger or double oven can increase the electrical demand. We’ll assess the existing circuit and determine whether any electrical upgrades are required before installation.

    • This company ticks all the boxes. They are professional, knowledgeable, timely, good communicators, friendly, tidy, etc. No, they are not the least expensive option you’ll find out there, but you will most definitely get your money’s worth. They do the job right the first time, use top-notch products and do it all with a smile.  Brad and his team are worth it!

    • Brad is brilliant with his prompt communication and punctuality.
Brad and Levi’s workmanship is thorough and safety is paramount for them. I was extremely impressed that Brad did a safety check as the first thing at the quoting stage.

Brad and Levi are honest and open if you have any follow up queries.
I have already passed on Limelight Electrix details to a family member and wouldn’t hesitate to give their details to anyone who was after a superior Electrician. More than highly recommended!!

    • Would highly recommend Brad and his team for any electrical work.  We have just used Limelight again to complete a variety of work at our recently purchased house, this will be about the fifth time we have used them and every time we cannot fault Brads work.

Whilst you may find cheaper quotes, you won’t find better quality – something we weren’t willing to comprise when dealing with electricity, not to mention presentation of our house.  We had one minor hiccup with a phone line, they were straight back out to resolve it at no cost.  They always call on the way to the job and stick to the agreed times.
